To achieve their objective in enhancing the role of the Biodiversity Community Centre, TrEEs had undertaken the following activtiies;
1. Upgraded and enhanced the existing solar energy system to supply power for additional lighting, fans as well as to run an LCD projector and notebook for training purposes.
2. Installed cooling and watering systems as a model for visitors to the BCC to learn how to recycle harvested rainwater and use it as a cooling system for the BCC as well as supplying water for the biodiversity garden.
3. Various educational and awareness materials including posters, informational signboards, flyers and handouts were developed for distribution to visitors to the BCC.
4. Publicity and outreach programmes played a major role in enhancing the role of the BCC as a resource centre for not only information but also as a model and as a hands-on training centre in educating the urban population on how to reduce thier conribution to Climate Change and Biodiversity Loss, as an individual. Awareness raising programmes and activities were conducted for all levels of society, from kindergarten to high schools and colleges, private sector companies, residents associations, and other local community organisations. The BCC was featured on national TV for its successful community recycling programme as well as for the BCC's unique features as a resource center and how every individual could get active in conserving the environment at their own home and surroundings
5. Networking with the local community, visitors and private corporations led to an increase in demand for outreach activities, especially during occasions linked to environmental conservation, such as Earth Day, Climate Change week, World Environment Day, etc.

The other objective of the project was to develop an environmental educational programme for replication by participating schools on i) how to raise the awarenessof the school communities on climate change and biodiversity loss and ii) implement hands-on projects to reduce each participating school's contribution to climate change and biodiversity loss. Activities included;
1. Training workshops for students in participating schools were conducted to build the capacity and understanding of the student project teams to successfully run their pilot project and implement it in their respective schools. Participating school teams were judged for their work and held an exhibition of their activities during the closing ceremony towards the end of the project, where winners were announced for their contribution of ideas and successful implementation.
2. Fieldtrips to recycling centre and landfills for students to encourage them to explore and research simple solutions to start changing human habits that lead to environmental problems.
3. Participating schools would plan and implement their own recycling programmes through which income generated would be utilised by the respective school to further fund their hands-on capacity building initiatives at the school.
4. Educational materials and information kits were developed to facilitate implementation of the programme, and to raise awareness on biodiversity, climate change and their links to human activities.

Throughout the project, TrEES had received the support of states' education department, forestry department as well as the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
