Awareness Raising on Sturgeon Fishes, facing extinction
The project aims to draw public attention to the fragile situation of the sturgeon fishes, which are threatened. The project includes production of promotion material regarding the fish. Althougt its prohibited to hunt sturgeon, in and around the Black Sea coast, it is known that it is still being hunted and sold at extreme prices to restaurants. The project aims to raise awareness of both the general public and particular groups such as the fishermen, the gendarmerie and children. There will be a poster, a calendar and coffe mugs prepared that will provide information about the importance of the conservation of the fish. The NGO, concurrently aims to carry out activities to attract attention of the relevant authorities to ensure conservation and restoration of the habitat of the fish, to prevent them from extinction.
