Mossy Forest Expansion Project
The Mossy Forest Biodiversity Conservation is a community project for enhancement of indigenous knowledge system and practices in the sustainable management of the watershed area within their community and traditionally managed woodlots.
It is geared towards the protection of the forest to maintain its natural regeneration and other ecological processes.
Along with protection is the expansion of plant diversity in the lower elevations as buffer to able disturbance of the genetic reserves of the protected forest within the community?s ancestral territory.
Cultural exchanges with regular visits shall be forged with Northern Sagada and Bayyo communities. Joint capability building and experience sharing shall form part of a Memorandum of Agreement by and between these communities. The Northern Sagada community with experience in the propagation and out planting of mossy forest species shall provide the needed experiential learning to the other communities.
