Fishery Resource Management Through Mass Seaweeds Production
The project intends to Fishery Resource Management through Mass Seaweeds Farming Introduction which aims to rehabilitate the declining resources in the four (4) coastal barangays of Tubay namely, Barangay Tinigbasan, Tagpangahoy, Binuangan, and La Fraternidad.
Objectives:
? To protect and manage the coastal and fishery resources through the introduction of the introduction of seaweeds farming technology with a community participatory approach in order to uplift the poverty living condition
? Provide additional source of income and livelihood to the depressed fisherfolk and women sector of the area.
? Management, protection and rehabilitation of coastal and fisheries resources;
? Prevention of upland siltation and erosion from the Kalinawan River;
? Protection of aquatic habitat an breeding place expansion;
? Re-institutionalization and re-strengthening of the fisherfolk, women sectors and other resource users;
? Enhancement of understanding and awareness of the community in the protection, conservation and management of coastal and fishery resources;
? Socio-economic upliftment through provision of alternative livelihood, introduction of seaweeds and other sources of income;
? Conduct capability building seminar and training;
? Conduct cross visits/studies to successful FRM and other relevant projects
