Reducing the anthropogenic pressure on the territory of the Governmental National Natural Park ?Salkyn-Tor? by increasing the sustainable development of the communities situated in the buffer zone of the park by creating alternative household condition and developing the collaboration between the population of Dobolu village and the administration of the National Natural Park.
The national park Salkyn Tor is a place of consentration of various plants and animals. It has a great flora and fauna. However, there has been an anpropogenic pressure on this park. Due to the poaching and vast tree cutting the environment is posed to great ecological challenges. The local population is performing irrational household activities that over the time is greatly hurting the condition of the park. This park has an importance for the nature of Kyrgyzstan due to its diversity. The NGO "Naryn-Kenesh" estimated that the local population needs alterntive activities that can bring profit and at the same time be ecologically safe. The possible activities that were outlined include: ecotourism, souvenir production. The younger generation is going to be occupied with various green patrols. Th forest nursery is going to be organized to preserve the territory of the park. The project staff is going to conduct an inventory of the plants and monitor the situation. The local population is going to be informed about the activities of the NGO by the means of agitation boards and information campaign. The ecological awareness is going to be increased by organization of seminars and round tables.
