ROP: Community Mobilization to Address Resource Management, Conservation, and Promotion of Biodiversity
The women group is organized to tackle the environment issues in their community in an integrated manner looking at waste management, biodiversity, and sustainable livelihood. Previous work has not been in a collective manner.
The Women's group wishes to address the environment issues in their community looking at local plants, waste and marine particularly the reef. Without the expretise, they will partner with the government and Taiwan technical mission to develop programs to address these issues in a comprehensive manner.
With the programs which generally looks at plants/crops replanting, solid waste collection and disposal (ship it) at national dumpsite, and participatory coral reef monitoring, the community's women would implement the programs and also explore resources to ensure sustainability and outreach. The community anticipates a cleaner environment and less dependency on imported food as a result of this program.
