Preservation of land degradation through planting saxaul in the steppe massif Tulku Tash, Batken ayul okmot, also utilization of pasture circulation and increasing local people?s awareness.
Most of Batken region's territory is considered to be dry and does not have sufficient water supply. There are few rainfalls and the river's water is taken by people from two republics. All of these factors are causing land degradation and worsening the overall environmental situation. The envronment of this area is effected also by the irrational household and agricultural activities of people. Local population has significantly impacted the flora and fauna of the region. Animals that have a great importance have been in not one of the best situations. The degradation is also caused by overgrazing on the pastures, by irrational and irresponsible tree cutting. Due to all of these factors the environment of Batken region has been enourmosly damaged. It is a great challenge for the NGO to solve this problem. The ways are evident but the cooperation from the population side is minimal. That is why first priority is to inform people about the effect of the degradation and deforestation and explain to them that in the long run it will be more cost effective to protect the environment and take measures. The NGO in the course of the project is planning to organize several educational seminars and round tables. Also the saksaul is going to be planted on the large area and implement pasture rotation. The agitation boards are going to be put out in this area and all if this actions are going to be supported by information campaign.
