Preservation and conservation of flood-plain forest along the Kara Unkur river near the Kokalma village, Talduubulak, Bazar Korgon rayon by organizing micro reserve and demonstrating alternative livelihood.
The major problem of this area is the economic situation. Population of this area utilizes the woods for energy supply for the rural area. Also people are picking berries and fruits from the forest very intensively to make living, which has destoyed the ecosystem of the area. The great decrease in the biodiversity is the outcome of the economic situation of people. The river Karaunkur flood-lands are greatly impacted by the grazing of the livestock and also the fires and tree cutting has effected the area along the river. The coast of the river is going to be destroyed if the plants are not going to be planted to avoid the floods. The NGO has had several meetings with the local population and have told them about the GEF SGP programme. Along the course of the project the local population is going to be informed about the major ecological problems. The round tables, seminars are going to be held. The territory is going to be fenced. Organization of natural tourism is also considered in the course of the project. Nursery is going to be organized to increase the biodiversity and preserve the important plants. This project is going to be supported with information campaign.
