The project aims for advance hands-on capacity building of selected trainees from SGP project IRA-G52-2001&2004-006 and some SGP grantees. Three series of workshops (total 9 workshops) has been designed with practical elements in the field to provide advance and applied training on:

o Stakeholder analysis with regards to the goal of the project

o Developing baseline and indicators of change using participatory techniques such as PRA and RRA

o Application of facilitation techniques and principles in the field

o Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation (including techniques such as SWOT and etc.)

The participants are responsible for developing group or individual project concepts of high quality purely for training purposes. Each series of the workshop will use one of the following SGP project sites for its practical and field workshop:

o Siran Goli site in West Azerbaijan Province {SGP project site of IRA-G52-2003-028 & IRA/05/18 (68th)}

o Varamin/Tarand site in Tehran Province {SGP project site IRA/05/17 (65th)}

o Kordistan Province {one of SGP project sites in Kordistan Province}

Out of 25 participants for each series, 12 are from NGOs, 8 from local communities of the SGP project sites and 3 from SGP office, grantees or NSC, 2 from Department of Environment- Bureau of Public Participation and local officials. The budget and implementation responsibility is divided among 3 Provincial Networks of West Azerbaijan, Tehran and Kordistan Provinces.
