A pilot study in Understanding Life (Problems and Ways ahead) after floods in Barmer.
The project is formulated keeping goal of harmonious living for community and other diversities in desert region and reducing vulneribility against shocks like sudden floods.
Purpose/Objectives of the project:
1) To demonstrate replicable technologies of improving soil condition in the flood affected regions of desert.

3) To promote "Hariyali Dhani" as a source vegetables in remote houses.
4) To enhance role of other stakeholders in improving local biodiversity.
5) Youth are organized for protecting livelihoodwithin local climatic conditions.
The above objectives will be achieved through following outputs:
1) 60 Ha Land is treated using measures of field bunding and gully plugging.
2) Tested technologies for soil improvement by 110 families of three zones(20 ha each) of floods namely upper regions, transition zone and water logged regions.
3) In six project villages women are organized as "Podhewala Group".
4) A detailed survey on production potential is available for widely found vegetation Ker; Sangari; Chapti; Bui; Fog; Seniya; Aak; Rohida and Bordi.
5) 200 families have Dhani surroundings in the form of "Hariyali Dhani"
6) DHARA has community based seed management groups in six villages.
7) Pamphlets on use of local vegetation and their propagation.
8) Documentary is available on local vegetation for propagating.
