Creating five Private Nature Reserves in the Palajunoj region, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala
The project consists of desiganting and registering five private Nature Reserves on privately owned land areas, that will help conserve natural resources and act as ecological corridors. Workshops will be held with community memebers, residing both within and around the Reserves, and with different local stakeholders, as to involve them in conservation efforts. They will also be involved in the formulation of Master Plans, designed specifically for each Reserve, that will help integrate communities with the work of the Nature Reserves.
The project will contribute to the Guatemalan Sytem of Protected Areas.
