Conservation and Development of the Forest Biodiversity in one of the Resettlement Kebeles of Metema Woreda, North Gondar Zone, The Amhara Region
The project aims at rescuing the endangered Combretum-Terminalia vegetation and Oxytenanthera abyssinica (low land bamboo) in one of the most fragile forest ecosystem of the Amhara Region, Metema woreda; particularly village 6,7 and 8 inhabited by resettlers .In order to achieve the objective the project designed different development options that can help improve the livelihood of the target communities thereby reduce the pressure on the natural vegetation.

Policy Impact
Being the focus of government?s massive resettlement program of people from the very degraded highlands beginning 1984, the intervention of this project in this particular area will greatly assist in solving problems of resource depletions as a result of continuous dependence of settlers.
