Combating Land Degradation and Conserving the Environment in Northern Langano and Abjata Lakes Area
The project addresses problems of land degradation especially indigenous plants and contributes to climate change mitigation through promotion of integrated sustainable land and natural resource management practices and efficient wood saving technologies. The general development goal of this project is to halt land degradation and improve the vegetation coverage and to protect the biodiversity loss in the project areas.

Policy Impact
As part of the community action plan, community cultural ritual law will be developed at Kabele level and and will be integrated with the government environmental protection policy.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
As the key stakeholders and beneficiaries are farmers, local communities and indigenous groups (school, private sectors, and clubs) of Bulbula surrounding PAs, they will have improved livelihoods from a broader range of land use and in environmental rehabilitation practices that permit their long term sustainability.
