Promotion of NATURA 2000 Warminskie Bociany (Warmia white storks)
NE Poland (previous 4 smaller voivodship Olsztyn,Suwalki,Lomza and Bialystok,now - greater part of Warmia Mazury and Podlasie Voivodships) host 30% of Polish population of white stork, and 7.25% of the global one.Here is the greatest density of white storks in Europe 99 pairs per 100km2 (sepopol).The highest density is in a border belt with the Kaliningrad Oblast (Russia) in villages Zywkowo, Szczurkowo, Lejdy, Lwowiec with average 30-40 nests per one village.
