Tjulkubass area is rich with apple gardens. There are 100 ha of apple gardens in Zhabagly village, and adjoining Michurin, Kemerbastau, Kumisbastau and Shakpak-baba villages. But none of the village has manufacture for vegetable and fruit processing. The same situation is with medical herbs. The level of solar radiation in the region is quite high, that enables uses of solar energy. Solar energy as a source accessible without any costs, can serve for drying fruit-and-vegetable, spices, and medical herbs.

The project goal is to demonstrate solar energy usage opportunities for drying fruits and vegetables through construction of a demonstration solar dryer in Zhabagly settlement of Tulkubas area.

Project tasks:
1. To install 4 modern solar dryers for vegetables, fruit, medicinal herbs processing
2. To demonstrate possibility for the solar energy use for drying fruit-and-vegetable, spices, and medical herbs in Tulkubass area.

Expected results:
- 4 demonstration dryers are installed and worked in Zhabagly village, 15 tones of fruit and 400 kg of vegetable are processed.
- Not less than three articles about the project realization are published in local and oblast newspapers.
- Presentation, "day of open doors" and training seminar are carried out for Zhabagly and adjoining villages? representatives.
- Local people are aware about advantages of solar energy use technologies, acquainted with working solar dryers. Its promotes further solar dryers use for vegetables and fruit in the area.
