Establishing Sustainable Decentralised Solid Waste Processing Initiatives at Community Levels Involving Scrap Workers in the State of GOA
The present proposal seeks to achieve three significant objectives:

a) Upsacle rapidly the construction of in-house solid waste disposal schemes using environmentally friendly methods and technologies including EM and earthworms. This is to be done with large scale actors including building developers, cooperative housing socities, hotels, resorts, factories and major institutions.

b) Preapare and implement a non-biodegradable waste collection and disposal scheme that will deal effectively with plastic litter, through the craetion of permanent arrangements for collection and disposal(recycling) of such wastes.

c) Prepare a detailed feasibility report on the setting up of two waste paper and cloth reprocessing units to make paper from materials redeemed from solid waste sites.

The overall goal of the project is to enable environment cleanliness and to expand the implementation of long term, institutional solutions in the persisting problem of domestic solid wastes generated by a variety of agents in the state of Goa.
