Networks and Information Exchange
The project aims at establishment and or strengthening of networks among environmental/development NGOs and promoting access, exchange and use of information especially through internet and a newsletter. The pilot area covers 3 districts in northwestern Uganda in the West Nile region: Arua, Nebbi and Adjumani. The target group of the project is 30 environmental/development NGOs. The main theme of the project is soil conservation and water management with emphasis on the water of River Nile which is the main water body in the project area.

Capacity - Building Component
Sixty members of 30 environmental organizations were trained in basic internet navigation skills. Twelve of them are women. The trained members have been encouraged to get e-mail addresses so that they can communicate on e-mail. The project has given free e-mail addresses to over 80 individuals on its website.
Planning non gef grant
The NGOs that have been participating in this project will be asked to develop cross-border projects with South Sudan for conservation of natural resources in the Nile Basin. They will use information from various websites and discussions with communities to develop the project proposals.
