Evaluation is one of the most important components in any project realization. Project evaluation is held with the purpose to determine efficiency of the realized project activities, project results sustainability and lessons learned. Such approach is wildly used in the GEf SGP. In the prior period of its activity SGP has arranged evaluation researches, the results of which have been used as a basis for correction of programme approach and efficiency enhancement of SGP/GEF work in Kazakhstan.

The project goal is to carry out evaluation of the 15 SGP terminated projects in the area of biodiversity conservation to analyse the projects impact and result sustainability.

During the evaluation the main accent will be made on the project results sustainability evaluation; direct and oblique project influence evaluation; impact in the context of global environmental benefits achievement; sociao-economic status of target groups of local communities; lessons learned analysis.

Evaluation will be arranged through expert site-visits to the projects realization territory, meetings and interviews with project implementation team, local community representatives, local authorities? representatives and other parties.

Expected results:
Detailed evaluation report including analysis of the 15 SGP terminated projects (determined gaps and lessons learned, project results sustainability, project direct and oblique influence, impacts promoting global environment achievements)
