Environmental Education of Farmers on Application on Agro-Environmental Measures
Environmental Education of Farmers on Application on Agro-Environmental Measures
Special agro-environmental measures and financial support are new for Lithuanian farmers. They are lucking information about such extra possibilities and have not enough skill to fulfil specific biodiversity and habitat management requirements. Project seeks that the support should be given for management (extensive farming) on areas where economic activities are not being maintained to the required level now and threaten the existing values or could be likely abandoned in the future if appropriate measures are not implemented.
Project aims to increase capacity of state agricultural sector in Lithuania (especially the Lithuanian Agricultural Advisory Service) in field of agro-environment and better inform farmers, agricultural companies and cooperatives about new possibilities to receive support for agro-environment protection measures and about biodiversity conservation itself.
