Planning grant to develop a proposal entitled Meeting the Goal and Objectives of the CBS Through Demonstrating Benefits from Community Involvement in Fish Farming
The planning grant will facilitate the preparation of the proposal entitled Meeting the Goal and Objectives of the CBS Through Demonstrating Benefits from Community Involvement in Fish Farming by supporting the consultative planning process of the Community Baboon Sanctuary Women?s Conservation Group. It will be used to cover the cost of logistical support for obtaining inputs from members and other interested stakeholders from the seven villages (Bermudian Landing, Flower?s Bank, Scotland Halfmoon, Double Head Cabbage, Willows Bank, Isabella Bank and St. Paul?s Bank) that make up the Community Baboon Sanctuary. The funds will facilitate the travel of the group members to meet with representatives from the Fisheries Department?s Aquaculture Inland Fisheries Unit and the Belize Audubon Society (BAS) to gather information. Members will also visit an existing fish farm in Biscayne Village. The planning grant will also provide for contracting a resource person who will help to facilitate the community stakeholders? workshops and prepare the project proposal.
