BUILDING SUSTAINABLE PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE INTEGRATION OF BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS AT THE SIERRA MADRE MOUNTAIN RANGE
BUILDING SUSTAINABLE PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE INTEGRATION OF BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS AT THE SIERRA MADRE MOUNTAIN RANGE
The great extent of the Sierra Madre geographic region requires strategic mechanism to effectively launch successful facilitative works for advocacy, networking and organizing for consensus and awareness building. The mechanism is also necessary to ensure that stakeholders are engaged actively to implement collaborative activities that are facilitated by UNDP-GEF Program. The establishment of a regional management unit would strategically provide this requirement and effectively support the continuing process of developing and implementing corridor-wide strategies and programs in priority conservation areas. It will also provide support for community-based projects and livelihood activities particularly implemented community members.
