Organic agriculture with potato, maize and faba bean crops and reforestation of alder, cypress, pine and chirantodundrum pentadactilum trees in Cantón Buena Vista, Aldea Cunlaj, Tacaná, San Marcos, Guatemala
The project will benefit 32 families in the Buena Vista community. They will produce 1.4 ha of potato, 1.4 ha of maize, 1.4 ha of faba beans using organic agriculture and soil conservation methods. They will create a tree nursery and reforest 8,000 alder, cypress, pine and chirantodundrum pentadactilum trees on 1.4 ha.

Training workshops will be given in reforestation, organic agriculture, soil conservation, administration and gender issues. Part of the produce and tree saplings will be sold to sustain the project.
