Rain water harvesting and conservation for use in agricultural production in Rwinkwavu district
The project aims at building capacities of local farmers in rain water management for agriculture production and as a way to adapt to recurrent water scarcity and drought. The project will set up 4 demonstration sites of water catchment and management techniques. The project will be implemented in partnership with ICRAF (World Agro forestry Centre) and the William Clinton Foundation.

Capacity - Building Component
46 lead farmers, 12 agronomes and 3 water technicians trained in several techniques of rain water management for agriculture, dissemination of knowledge by replicating successful techniques in farms. 30 people benefit from a Study tour in Kenya where ICRAF was set up more demonstration sites
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
The projet will raise awareness on necessity to adapt to climate change by developing new pratices and techniques of soil and water conservation, especially in agriculture
