Pro-Environment Club for Children (EnvEra)
The project addresses the problems of lack of environmental awareness, deterioration of environmental health, and contamination of natural resources, that affect Syria in general and the village of Era in particular, by expanding upon an environmental club for children. The project aims at providing environmental education for the village's children, to serve as a center for ICT in the village, and generally to improve the environment of Era and its surroundings.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
The primary goal of EnvEra is to educate children on environmental issues, in hopes that the children will subsequently spread awareness and knowledge everywhere they go. A closely-related secondary goal is to use information and communications technology to help accomplish EnvEra's educational goals, as well as to generally improve communications capability in Era.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
environmental education offered by the project includes spreading knowledge on the effects of global environmental trends, most notably global climate change. Among other programming, EnvEra conducts workshops, training, and plays - prepared by the children themselves - in order to demonstrate the enormous relevance of major ecological themes to the fates of mankind, flora, and fauna, as well as the catastrophic impacts that human-caused environmental mistakes can have on the progressive death of nature. The founders aim to arm the children with basic empirical knowledge about main environmental themes such as biodiversity, climate change, land use management, water and air pollution, and desertification. Also, they aim to support the work of international organizations and other environmental agencies in the country through implementing simple activities that support their work in the region, especially at the local level.
