Replication of Sustainable Development Among Tribals Through Participatory Bio-Diversity Conservation Programme at 13 Gram Panchayat of Sadar and Ghatagaon block of Keonjhar District, ORISSA
The objective of the project is to conserve the biodiversity, including the integrity and diversity of species and ecosystems in project area, and promote sustainable use of biological resources through women SHGs, referring to the use of components of forest & agro-based biological diversity without undermining the natural resource base. The project aims at bringing equity in conservation and use among tribal community members, including equitable access to and decision-making control over biodiversity as well as equitable distribution of costs and benefits associated with conservation and sustainable use.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Awareness programme on Eco-system and deriving forest based livelihood in sustainable manner, methods of conservation and use of no-cost technology to protect village biodiversity, use of less fuelwood and use of coke briquette produced from industrial waste, cattle control mechanism and different issues related to forest and new forest bill, will be conducted.
Policy Impact
Good linkage has been established by the NGO in the project area with Panchayat for setting up the environment resource center, district administration is also co-financing in various IGP activities, and bank linkages are ensured with SHG groups. The NGO is also developed a linkage with another SGP partner to use the smokeless briquette
