Project Characteristics and Results
Notable Community Participation
Communities and PRIs, VFPMCs, Mahila Mandals/ SHGs would be involved in each activity, be it the revival work of Orans or advocacy. The NGO will function as an implementer and facilitator overseeing the role played by the communities/ PRIs at the grass-root level, ?Oran Forum? at the state level, in the implementation of the project activities. It will also ensure timely and factual monitoring- evaluation on a periodic basis.
Inovative Financial Mechanisms
Each Oran village will set up a Common Fund. PRIs, VFPMCs, Mahila Mandals/ SHGs and local communities would decide the amount to be collected from individuals on a regular basis as a contribution to the projects Common Fund. PRIs will identify sources and access resources which were hitherto out of their reach {like government schemes, service of financial institution, donors etc.}. The initial Common Fund eventually would develop into a full-fledged Revolving Fund.
