Participative Conservation Efforts in Tanjung Peropa Forest Preservation Area, South East Sulawesi
Goals:
Raising Community Awareness in surrounding Tanjung Peropa Suaka Margasatwa Area to protect and to conserve the Sustainability of Regional Ecosystem and support the self-relliance community within the Tanjung Peropa area in alternative local economy establishment.

Objectives:
1. To increase awareness and understanding on community role towards sustainability of ecosystem preservation and biodiversity in Tanjung Peropa Conservation area.
2. As one effor to return the Peropa conservation area to better condition after experincing degradation with supporting protection model and participatory monitoring system.
3. To issued agreement on Local Village Regulation that stated the conservation plan and natural resource management in Peropa.
4. To perform participatory village mapping and explore natural resource potential
5. To provide skilled village human resource in managing and keeping the sustainability of the natural resource and ecosystem
6. To increase the welfare of the poor community living in Peropa area through enhancing agriculture product
7. To initiate the farmer group local economy institution building
8. Provide the agriculture product marketing network in local level


Activities:
1. Socialization in village level and related agencies
2. Participatory mapping, participatory mapping training, a participatory village map & potential mapping
3. Conservation action: trees planting in watershed area and living fence between the village; development of ginger trees arround the forest; focus group discussion on conservation
4. Issuance and socialization of Village regulation on natural resource which has been the result agreement on the Sumbersari and Ulusenan villages meeting.
5. Economy Package and Working Capital (forming of farmer economy cooperative group with 100 members).
6. Process documentation and campaign (socialization and campaign in local level, with film screening, posters and other)


Expected Output:
1. Existing Tanjung Peropa Suaka Margasatwa Area Conservation Model to restore the condition of damaged ecosystem and biodiversity by having participatory approach;
2. Existing protection model and participatory monitoring system as community agreement in applying village regulation to maintain ecosystem and biodiversity sustainability in Tanjung Peropa Suaka Margasatwa

Indirect : communities in 2 villages, Sumber Sari and Ulu Sena, kecamatan Mouramo, kabupaten Konawe Selatan, Sultra
