Reduction/Elimination of risks posed by Persistant Organic Pollutants (POPs) to the Environment and Human health in selected rural and urban communities in Zimbabwe.
1. 0 BACKGROUND

Greenviron Training Associates draws expertise from professional associates' members. Greenviron has developed persistent organic pollutants awareness material under the Phase 1 of GEF/SGP. The materials were developed in response to misuse and abuse of farm chemicals in Zimbabwe communities. Humans have been exposed to POPs through ingestion of food. This leads to cancer, neutrotic behavior changes and other effects. Information on bans or restriction have not reached everyone concerned -local pestcide dealers, health personnel, extension workers and farmers.
