Prevention of climate change and land degradation in the basin of Karadarya river by introduction of pasture rotation and decrease of rice plantation areas in Aral and Tosh villages, Karadarya ayil okmotu.
The land degradation, the reducation of biodiversity of river Karadarya, the floods and the increase of the subsoil level have been considered as a serious problem for this area. The urgent actions were demanded. The NGO outlined the main problems that include degradation, the floods and the large rice plantations after which the soil won't be able to produce anything else. The actions that the project outlined listed following items, to restore the fertility of the land where the rice plantations used to be. To introduce pasture rotation and systematize the patures. Also plant the flood-lands to fight the floods. The project management is planning to organize seminars, tranings and round tables. Organization of pasture rotation will help to decrease the degradation. Plantation of saplings will help to decrease the rice plantation areas. Also there mini reserve will be organized in the flood lands of the river to save and increase the biodiversity of the area. Since torrents and floods are significant problem to this area preventive measures are planned to fight this challenge. All these actions are going to be supported by information campaign, which include TV materials, and print articles also several materials such as broshures, booklets are going to be published.
