Networking and capacity building for COMPACT grantee groups.
The project objective is to establish an autonomous organization of the COMPACT grantees which includes NGOs, CBOs and Institutions to one organization. The established organization will network these groups thus making them gain control and collective power in the management of natural resources and other environmental related social economic needs around Mt. Kilimanjaro. This grantees organization will also build the capacity of grantee groups to a self sustained level of a NGO or CBO to continue on their own after COMPACT support. A number of meetings and exchange visits between these groups were conducted to promote inter community links before starting process of establishing this umbrella organization. In these meetings it was proved that the established organization will increase the effectiveness and efficiency of livelihood and conservation activities implemented by these groups.
The established COMPACT grantees organization will be the footprints of the COMPACT work after its completion. Wildlife conservation of Tanzania (WCST) has been facilitating the process of establishing COMPACT Grantees organization.
