Conservation of Njoro Juu water spring
Njoro Juu water spring is located in Moshi Town; this spring supports a big number of people in Moshi town. The water of this spring joins other springs in Miwaleni area an area which is very dry. Miwaleni water springs are surrounded by villagers of Miwaleni wards and thus affected by environmental due to demand for water for irrigation and fuel wood.
The objective of this project is to raise tree seedlings which will be planted in Miwaleni area. The project will also protect and conserve Njoro juu water spring. The project has planned to plant about 53,000 tree will be planted around these water springs.
The project will also contribute in providing environmental conservation awareness to villagers in Miwaleni so as to reduce the activities within the spring. The project will identify areas for tree planting where cattle grazing will not be permitted.
This project will contribute towards conservation of Njoro Juu spring and Miwaleni catchment areas for Biodiversity conservation.
