Ulufonua Botanical Garden, Lakepa
Ulufonua Botanical Garden, Lakepa
The Ulufonua/Tumutoi botanical garden project intends to establish a national botanical garden, as recomended in the National Biodiversity Strategic Action Plan. This will be the first project of this kind in Niue.
The garden will promote the revival of indigenous plants and their uses for traditional purposes. All native tree species will be replanted. A nursey will also be developed. To raise public awareness, an Infomartion Center will be set up.
