Collection and treatment of gray water
The Main Project Objective:
Treatment of Grey water used in houses for 200 families in Manial Hany Village and raising people?s awareness to conserve water and protect it against pollution.
Project Activities:
Building a network for grey water treatment for 200 families in 5 streets
1) Encouraging the community to participate in i=the project and its continuity
2) Collection and treatment of used water
3) Connecting houses to the network
4) Documentation
5) Monitoring and evaluation
Raising awareness of community people to protect water from pollution through:
1) Farmers awareness of conserving irrigation water
2) Community awareness of conserving water streams and the prevention of dumping dead animals and solid waste in them
3) An awareness campaign for housewives for safe disposal of domestic waste
4) Community awareness of the importance of using clean water instead of using water streams in washing clothes and utensils.

Inovative Financial Mechanisms
- The NGO collects 3 L.E. monthly fees from each participating family to cover the costs of maintenance of the waste water system and to provide salaries for hired people.
Project sustainability
- The NGO collects 3 L.E. monthly fees from each participating family to cover the costs of maintenance of the waste water system and to provide salaries for hired people.
- Issuing continuous reports in cooperation with governmental authorities to follow up on the project's activities in the village and also to provide maintenance equipments
- Future continuous fund raising activities to complete the project to cover other suffering areas in the village and complete the gray water network.
