Wildlife experts believed that Dolphins (Platanista gangetica) are found in the major river of Koshi, Narayani and Karnali and the number is very small. But the community members in Far west Terai have different view. Plenty of Dolphins are seen playing in the Mohana River one of the Tributaries of the Karnali river during rainy season. The locals also argue that Bardahawa Ghat of Mohana river is the ideal place where one can enjoy the dolphin playing from a very close range.

The project tries to aware the local community about the importance of the conservation of Dolphin and banning the use of bigger net to fish and use of poison and electrict currnt for fishing. The poject also tries to improve the livlihood of local people by initiating ferrying of boat and wild boar farming.
