Through activities of Environment Education through pagoda combines with livelihood activities injected in the target areas of the project, it increases community spirits in mobilizing all actors of natural resources protection- CRG from local level to national level, Non governmental organizations working in that areas and community members. In addition, communities have their resource persons in Environment Education mainstreaming and resource persons in alternative sources of livelihood improvement. Flooded forests on Tonle Sap Lake (Kampong Leang district of Kampong Chhnang province), where are the main shelters of fishes and other living things, have been restored by local people in this community as they need to use these flooded resources in an economical and practical way. On the other hand, by observation all of project activities can improve health condition and quality of life of local people.

Working elsewhere in Cambodia, ABE carried out its project through secondary process development. It means that ABE facilitates the formation of community based organizations (CBOs) and build their capacity in order that they have ability to mobilize public-spirited citizen would have done the same purposes, they are part of civil society in place, which they play role as interested group in the community on a variety of development issues such as monk counterparts and key-monks. They are the local partners in development process in coordination with government and other development agencies from outside. This project allowed ABE to facilitate monk counterparts to become core trainers and facilitators in natural resource protection; and livelihood activities of the communities. In the process of implementation of the whole project, after building the capacity for all of selected monks, ABE just plays its role as facilitator and stops back them to be on track; and monks as the implementers of the project. Through this way, we expect that all of project achievements are forever lasting in the communities, which we hope that, if something is broken and/or destroyed by natural disaster, it will regenerate again through facilitation of CBOs in place. The project activities in the pagodas such as vegetable garden, tree nurseries, bulletin boards, and composting will still be managed by monks. Apart from this, fundraising at the temple during special ceremonies was established for environmental activities. Also, the contribution box situated in the pagoda clearly labeled with its cause was a visible initiative.
See that the formation of saving group is very important for them, the saving group members committed to maintain their group and use their common fund as loan for improving their quality of life; and to be improved their rules and management system if necessary. By the way vegetable groups continue their work for daily consumption and for income generation; and forest fire protection teams continue to stand in the communities for their coordination roles whose job is to stop forest fires burning. Further more the project also increases in numbers of single trees as well as rainfall forests that can be used as immunization against climate change.
