Recovery Program for ?Mino Raharjo? Gourami Cultivation Business in Jambidan Village, Banguntapan Subdistrict, Bantul District, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta.
Famous for their fishery, especially Gourami, Desa Jambidan is highly potential for further development due to its strategic location on Karangploso and Margoyoso irrigation channel routes from Opak river. Approximately 1500 hectares of Banguntapan, Piyungan and Pleret Districts were watered from the irrigation.
Currently, the irrigation channel had been damaged as impact of the earthquake in May 27, 2006 that caused droughts in those districts and also increasing risks for the community in surrounding to lost their livelihood, especially farmers and fishermens.
The grant from SSGF would be utilized as follows:
1. To recover community?s livelihood in ?Mino Raharjo? Fish Cultivation Group
2. To recover and to increase Gourami production and its marketing;
These will result several following outputs:
1. Existing 67 unit ponds, owned and managed by group
2. Existing 2700 kg ready to breed Gourami seeds
3. Existing 2000 m safety net and 1 unit diesel, managed together. Also, existing additional necessities for fish cultivation i.e. 540 sacks of factory?s food, 1620 kg leave?s food, 27 pieces kitchen salt,
27 pieces vitamin, and 27 unit medicine packages.
4. Existing 2 documentary movies about fish cultivation process
as part of progress report
5. Existing 1 unit freezer and 1 unit laptop (to be used for internet
connections, administration, and to learn information technology)
