Biogas and Solar Project
St James Seminary started in the year 1925. Througth out this time it has been accomodating 220 doarding student per year. The seminary is located in cold area and the students are using cold water for bathing since electricity is expencive. The seminary also use fuel food for all its cooking needs. This is also expensive to the seminary. The Seminary has cows 25 and120 pigs which produces a lot of manure which together with the waste from the students toilets the Seminary can produce a lot of energy for cooking and warming water for bathing.
The Seminary wants to implement a biogas project to meet the Seminary energy needs as well as to contribute in forest conservation. The project will construct 5 Biogas plants with the capacity of 75,000cubic meter each which will be connected and supply gas for cooking.Using biogas for cooking the Seminary will serve 50,000Tsh every month.
