DEMONSTRATION OF PV SOLAR ELECTRIFICATION FOR OFF GRID SCHOOLS IN TANZANIA.KIGONOGONI , MWANGA.
Under the National Programme for expanding Secondary Education in Tanzania (MES) a big number of secondary schools are stablished in almost all villages. Most villages are located in far flung areas, in off-grid locations where access to electricity is not possible. In Mwanga district alone, there are 22 secondary schools. More than half of these are located in off-grid areas. This project aims at demonstrating on how Secondary schools in off grid areas could use PV solar for electrification and hence improve conditions for learning.
Primary Objective of this project is t o demonstrate on how Secondary Schools in off grid locations could be electrified by using PV solar power.
Secondary Objectives:
-To improve learning conditions at the school by increasing period of study and establishment of computer studies.
-To improve living conditions in the school with a view of retaining teachers.
- To demonstrate the usefulness and appropriateness of solar energy to students and the adjacent community in order to create awareness on solar energy and its linkage to the global environment.
