Strengthening Community Action for Ex-situ Conservation of Guggal Species for ravine Reclamation in Ater block of Bhind
The project promulgates a model of land reclamation using endemic species that may yield better results. The goal of the project is strengthening community action for ex-situ conservation of Guggal species for ravine reclamation in Ater block of Bhind. The area is highly prone to land degradation and rapid spread of ravenous growth. The organization will use guggal as a flagship species in reclamation of the land in the area. Inventorization of guggal trees available in the area will be done with community participation and land treatment plans will be developed. Through participatory exercises a detailed biodiversity management plan for 110 ha area will be developed. The community will be mobilized for the formation of 4 nursery raiser group and nursery training will be imparted.
