Biodiversity Conservation in community forest and its use for sustainable piggery management and organic farming through the use of indigenous microorganism.
The objective of the project is to motivate village communities to conserve their forests and use the rich microbial bio-diversity of the forest for enhancing livelihood options and train selected village communities in the collection and culturing of Indigenous Micro Organism (IMO) from community forest and to use them for sustainable organic farming and piggery management.

Gender Focus
Taking the gender balance issue 14 SHGs will be formed in each village, which may also include disable people.
Capacity - Building Component
The community will be mobilized about the resource mapping and formation of committee for the conservation of forest. A village level plan will be formulated and implemented for the conservation of forest. The SHGs will be trained and agreements will also be signed regarding loan repayment, benefit sharing among the group.
The training,workshops,exposure visits & seminars under the project are as follows:
1. Formation, grading and credit linking of 14 SHGs
2. Training of selected SHG members at Cluster center in Piggery and organic farming. Micro-enterprise development training
3. Workshop on dissemination of the technology to other NGOs/CBOs
