The goal of the project is to strengthen livelihoods of tribal communities through conservation of biodiversity in 5 GPs of Uchera block of Satna District in Madhya Pradesh. The project will facilitate the establishing of a model of institutional bricolage for strengthening wild biodiversity based livelihood in 3 GPs (Gudah, Devguna, Bichawa). In-situ conservation initiative of 35 local rice varieties will be up scaled to 5 Gram Panchayats in the area.

Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
? Akashwani Reeva Officials have visited the SHGs for discussing the issues of tribal culture, traditional songs, objectives of forming SHGs and the production after the formation of the SHG and the vision of the group
? Exposure visits of SHGs to Saunthavadi have resulted in learning by seeing of the SHG. Livelihood generation from JFM activities by making the tribal less dependent on forest resources.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
? Exposure visits have been organized for BMCs to learn best practices of conservation & livelihood enhancement.
? Development of institutional norms for Achar, Aonla, Maida and Mahul Patta has been facilitated.
? Orientation workshops for the community members on norms and sustainable harvest have been organized and implemented for norms and handholding support for implementation and conflict management.
? Six training programs have been imparted to six different Self Help Groups on post-harvest and value-addition and handholding support for post-harvest and value-addition.
? 2 seed keepers and 50 seed propagators/multipliers are being identified and trained for seed propagators on SRI technique.
? 14 SHGs from Pithorabad Pauri have been met and are being trained on sanitation and low cost toilet construction.
? Rice and (anwla) nursery development and training on traditional rice cultivation
? Meeting was held with C.F Jabalpur
? In March 2008 five day long fair (haat) was organized for the SHGs
