Capacity Building of Mt. Kenya Operators:- Porters and Guides
Mt. Kenya Tourism Circuit Association intends to promote tourism activities around the Mt. Kenya World Heritage Site. They plan to improve the capacity of 120 porters and guides, operating in Mt Kenya, form 4 route solidarity associations and starting a financial management scheme for the porters as well as a verification system to weed out the unskilled operators.
They will also develop and equip an additional route to the mountain through Embu town and enhance collaboration with the park management authority by 2009.
