PLANNING GRANT FOR DEVELOPING A DOCUMENTARY ON ENDAGERED SPECIES FOCUSING ON DOLPHINS AND TURTLES
Background:
In the past year there were a series of deaths of Dolphins along the coast and the threat to turtles due to traditional netting still exists, so this grant is to help complete a portion of a documentary series in order to secure additional funding for the work to continue hoping to promote policy dialogue with the Fisheries Organization and the local fishermen in order to help to minimize industrial trawling and to fix the traditional net openings and issues with Moshtas (traditional netting) respectively.
The project activities are:
? Developing a 20 minutes documentary film on the current situation of endangered species; turtles and dolphins
?The documentary will have English subtitles
?Official authorization will be obtained before screening in public places or on national TV from GEF/SGP
?Logos of UNDP-GEF/SGP will be placed on the short documentary film
