Project Characteristics and Results
Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
An increased participation of the locals will be
secured through the large promotion of the project, the large distribution of information materials (printed both in Romanian and Hungarian languages, as the majority of the population in the area is of Hu nationality) and organisation of public debates.
Thus they will participate in the preparatory process of the Nature Park Certification (as owners of the lands), in the development of the eco-tourism facilities (as a potential provider of tourism services).
Project sustainability
The establishment of the natural Park Ciomad Balvanyos created the framework for the development of the eco and ago-tourism in the area. The ACCENT Organisation got the custody of this protected area and will continue to support the local population in improving the quality of the eco-tourism services provided. Other financing sources were accessed for the next years through applications submitted (Partnership Foundation, Foundation for the Civil Society Development).
