Participatory Community Based Monitoring and Evaluation of SGP-Funded Environmental Actions Project
The overall goal is to build capacity amongst the SGP Namibia project stakeholders in project monitoring and evaluation, assessment, documentation and sharing of experiences and lessons learned. An important secondary goal is to share the documented experiences and outcomes with a broader range of stakeholders.

?Monitor and evaluate impacts and outcomes of projects supported by SGP Namibia under the four thematic areas of biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, protection of international waters, and land degradation
?Document best practices, lessons learned, and experiences from SGP Namibia projects, and share experiences with the SGP Namibia Secretariat and other stakeholders through a Stakeholders ?Lessons Learned Workshop?
?Promote implementation of SGP Namibia?s National Communication Strategy objectives

Project Characteristics and Results
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
It is roughly estimated that more than 1000 people would benefit directly and indirectly from this project. Most of the direct benefits would be in the form of capacity building in monitoring and evaluation, and awareness raising related to environmental sustainability.
Capacity - Building Component
Sustainability will be fostered by building a strong sense of ownership of the process of monitoring and evaluation at both the project stakeholder and community levels. It will be fostered through capacity building activities involving project stakeholders in the monitoring and evaluation of their projects.
