Although this project is for an NGO proponent, the activties are fully led by the community leaders and participation is very strong from the members of the community. The model of the Protected Area also follows the new LMMA model being piloted throughout the Pacific Islands.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
Project anticipates establishment of income generation activiteis like sponge farming and coral farming as means to support the community that has taken the lead in establishment of the Protected Area.
