Project Characteristics and Results

Capacity - Building Component

As continuously, Santi Sena still carry out the public awareness among community with informal education, mobile library, commune council debate, and other training through out work plan developed. Anyway the project will cooperate with GEF.SGP and or IDE to collect information, education and communication related health promotion or safe drinking water for distribute in target community. Key farmer trained well understood on benefit of safe drinking water, then they will be encouraged to peer education or sharing the acquired knowledge for their community, thus villagers will increase their understanding in safe drinking water for health prevention. The project will also consult with health educator of commune health centre to help in their work plan for more demonstration at target villages.

Project sustainability

The GEF SGP project staff will continue to provide follow up support to UNDP TRAC SGP and ensure it sustainability and create more impact in term of environment as well livelihood of communities.

This project is fully funded by UNDP TRAC fund in the same target areas that funded by the GEF SGP funded. This project provided clean water facility to communities to improve their health and livelihoods.

Notable Community Participation

Upon the existing PRACHAK oil association base in target village, which implementing under grant of DPA, and PTF.SGP, association leader will assign to demonstrate the benefit of CWP for their members, thus more understanding and general knowledge related health prevention will be increase. Villagers who buy CWP will be allowed to depth of 50% of charge and pay time to time upon agreement, thus they are able and have opportunity for access CWP for safe drinking water, then however 50% of charge will be reflect to them that, it is for saving in association for further revolving fund in community.

Project Results

Anticipated Results
-Support pumps well for poor households will more contribution the opportunity in access to clean water for family consumption and needy of clean-water is reduced.
-Guideline for water group user within sustainable management and use will be developed through group formatted.
-Target group able to access water resource for agricultural production (Home-Gardening) to increase family income.
-Target group is well understood about benefit of safe drinking water through out demonstration and peer education facilitated by village base trainers.
-Target groups are living in healthy through safe drinking water by using Ceramic Water Purifier.
-Target group will join in contribution with project for buying CWP from their own PRACHAK oil association for family using.
-PRACHAK oil association will increase its grant for revolving fund in its village base.
-Guideline or any procedure about CWP will be developed for sustainable management and transparency.
