Environmental Education Project
The project goal is to build on the capacity of the San community through participatory consultation on the benefits of local environment to livelihoods. This process will highlight the integration of lifestyle and preservation of traditional knowledge specific to the San communities into process and policy developments in Namibia. Maintenance of natural resources will be promoted through greater recognition of the threats of environmental desertification.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
Approximately 300 people will benefit from this initiative. Skills will be transfered to local researchers in the San community. The programme will be based on a needs assessment by the San people for their own community.
Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
This project will be based with the San people, who are one of the minority and marginalized indigenous groups in Namiba.
