Reducing the pollution by Persistent Organic Pollutants of the Kochkor ayul okmotu territory by rehabilitating the protection covers, fencing the chemical weed-killer burial territories and educating the local population
Chemical weed-killers burried back in 1986 in Kochkor ayil okmot present a big threat of poisoning the local population due to active soil erosion and spread of pesticide residue over 25-30 ha. Polluted water flow into the river Naryn that is used for watering land throughout whole country.
The project of the NGO ?Intellectual Women?s Club? aims to:
1. Monitor the area and conduct analysis to estimate the POP pollution level.
2. Rehabilitate the protection covers.
3. Rehabilitate the soil on the territory of the weed-killer burial.
4. Fence the polluted territories.
5. Conduct information campaign
From successful implementation of the project will depend healthy and economic well-being of the population.
