Project for promotion of environmental education and sustainable use of forest and wildlife resources in Nhamatanda and Dondo districts of Sofala province
A project that aims to regulate the scenario of uncontrolled harvest and use of forest resources for sell or self consumption by local communities for production of charcoal, harvest of poles, bamboo poles, thatch grass, wild fruits and fauna of small posture. It will improve the regime of uncontrolled bushfires that is carried out for opening and cleaning of farming areas. There will be awareness rising among community members, and training on preservation of local resources. The project will establish tree nurseries for agroforestry and reforestation. New technologies will be introduced for management of bushfires and production of improved stoves. At household level there will be production of poultry, goats and sheep. At village level there will be establishment of community scouts, and incentive to carpentry. These activities will contribute to increase of household income.
